Salvation

God’s Love:

John 3:16 “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.”

Eternal Life:

John 17:3 “and eternal life means knowing you, the only true God, and knowing Jesus Christ whom you sent.”

All Have Sinned:

Romans 3:23 “everyone has sinned (broken God’s laws) and is far away from God’s saving presence.”

Sin Separates Us from God:

Romans 6:23 “For sin pays its wage – (spiritual) death; but God’s free gift is eternal life in union with Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Why was Jesus born?

John 3:17 “For God did not send his son into the world to be its judge, but to be its savior.”

God’s Plan:

2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slow to do what he has promised, (judgment) as some think. Instead, he is patient with you, because he does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants all to turn away from their sins.”

Jesus sets us Free:

John 5:24 “I am telling you the truth: Whoever hears my words and believes in him (God) who sent me (Jesus) has eternal life. He will not be judged, but already has passed from death to life.”

Jesus is our Salvation:

Acts 4:12 “Salvation is to be found through him alone; in all the world there is no one else whom God has given who can save us.”

Jesus died for our sins:

Romans 5:8 “But God has shown us how much he loves us – it was while we were still sinners that Christ dies for us.”

Jesus defeated death:

1 Corinthians 15:3,4 “I passed on to you what I received, which is of great importance: that Christ died for our sins, as written in the scriptures; that he was buried, and that he was raised to live three days later, as is written in the scriptures.”

Jesus is the only way:

John 14:16 “Jesus answered him, ‘I am the way the truth, and the life; no one goes to the Father except by me’.”

John 11:25, 26 “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.”

God’s Free Gift:

Ephesians 2:8,9 “For it is by God’s grace that you have been saved through faith. It is not the result of your own efforts, but God’s gift, so that no one can boast about it.”

Confess and Believe:

Romans 10: 9,10 “If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from the death, you will be saved. For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession that we are saved.”

Be Born Again:

John 3:3 “Jesus answered: ‘I am telling you the truth: no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”

A New Person:

2 Corinthians 5:17 “When anyone is joined to Christ, he is a new being; the old has gone, the new has come.”

God’s Word Lives:

1 Peter 1:23 “For through the living and eternal word of God you have been born again as children of a parent who is immortal, not mortal.”

Read the Bible:

Acts 17:11 “(the people) listened to the message with great eagerness, and everyday they studied the scriptures to see if what Paul said was really true.”

Accept Jesus:

If you have not accepted Jesus Christ into your life, and would like to do so. Say the following prayer out loud and believe in your heart that you have been saved.

Lord Jesus, I want to know you personally. I believe in my heart that you died on the cross for my sins, and rose from the dead that I might have eternal life. With your help I can leave my past mistakes behind. I accept your free gift of forgiveness for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive you as my Lord and Savior. I believe that I am truly a new person in you, help me Lord Jesus to be the kind of person you want me to be. Amen.

Thanksgiving:

Colossians 2:6,7 “Since you have accepted Christ Jesus as Lord, live in union with him. Keep your roots deep in him, build your lives on him, and become stronger in your faith, as you were taught. And be filled with Thanksgiving!”
