1. I have the right to be treated fairly, gently and with respect. 2. I have the right to relax and have fun in a non-substance using and non-destructive way. 3. I have the right to pursue people, places, and situations that will help me in achieving a good life. 4. I have the right to say “No” whenever I feel something is not safe or I am not ready. 5. I have the right to say “Yes” or “No” without feeling guilty. 6. I have the right to “mess up” and “blow it”, or make mistakes and 7. I have the right not to participate in either the activity or passive “crazy makings” behavior of others. 8. I have the right to change my tune, my strategy, and my attitudes. 9. I have the right to leave the company of people who deliberately put me down, try to lay a guilt trip on me, or humiliate me. 10. I have the right to end conversations with people who try to put me down and humiliate me. 11. I have the right to all my feelings. 12. I have the right to trust all my feelings, my judgments, and my hunches. 13. I have the right to develop myself as a whole person emotionally, spiritually, mentally and emotionally. 14. I have the right to express all my feelings in a nondestructive way and at a safe time and place. 15. I have the right to as much time as I need to understand what I am learning, and to initiate changes in my life. 16. I have the right to sort out the “Bill of Goods” my parents and others have sold me—to keep all that is acceptable and dump the unacceptable. 17. I have the right to pursue my goals and ambitions. 18. I have the right to be listened to and taken seriously. 19. I have the right to nurture myself. 20. I have the right to carve out my place in this world. I have the right to live free of the control of addictions! |
